Spring 2015

Spring planting DAY 1

With our limes trees getting older, the plan was to generate more bees by getting some more flowers into our backyard along with herbs.

No tomatoes this year as its just too much effort for little return. Well thats the idea at this time.

I set Abbi and I the task after school and work on Wednesday to get these seeds in and going.

Pots were chosen rather than the ground as our soil can be quite harsh without a proper garden being created and we need the ground for the netball court, pop up pool and all round kids stuff.

Anna Bay Saturday Markets

Saturday morning and we went to the local markets in Anna Bay for coffee and breakfast... Sausage sandwiches

 Fun Park

After coffee we went to a local fun park which had a great toboggan track. I thought I wouldn't be able to go but I found my inner child and jumped on for the first time in over 27 years. Rachel had a go as well and you could here a lot of laughter as we flew along the track in between trees.

These pictures are of the girls being taken up the hill.

Coming back down

Here is the last bend where they are slowing down
Not missing the chance to play pinball, Rachel passed on her knowledge of the game.

Fingal Bay

With the beach rods packed in the car the plan was to walk all the way out to Fingal Spit and attempt to catch a fish...or at least look the part.

Fingal Spit is in that gap between headlands in the picture below where we are all carb loading for the 4km return soft sand walk.

Off we go
We made it. This is the view on the northern side of the Spit

This is Abbi showing us how its done

Waiting for a bite at Fingal Spit
A tangle in my students reel....doesn't life go full circle !!!

We just went.......
Heading back to the car
When you don't catch that fish you must sit down and re-assess the game plan in a quiet place
Later that night we went out for a walk around
Middle Rock
On the Sunday we went to Middle Rock Beach to go looking for that one fish.

After a short while we realised that the fish must too have gone on holidays, so we decided to take some photos instead.

Twenty Years

Historic photo

Since we have been going we have taken a photo of the two girls on about the same spot in Nelson Bay shops. You may recognise the two photos on the right from the girls bathroom. On the left was the one we took last week.

Another great holiday
